About the Artwork
This piece by Astrid Berg catches a lotus pond in the minute before the sun really shows up. Sky, mist and water slide into each other in soft horizontal bands of cream, pale gold and blue gray, and three blush lotus blooms rise on thin stems, built from a few loose, petal-shaped strokes of pink and ivory. It's lotus flower art that suggests more than it spells out.
Look closer and you'll see the palette knife at work. Thick ridges of paint catch the edges of the lily pads, the reflections drip downward in fine vertical streaks, and the sage green pads float like flat islands across the darker water below. The whole surface feels damp and quiet, the way a pond does at dawn.
It's for the person who wants their walls to slow them down. If you're drawn to zen wall art, japandi wall art or a softer kind of spiritual wall art, this one fits right in, with no symbols to explain and nothing loud to compete with.
Hang this canvas wall art above a bed as calming bedroom wall art, in a corner set aside as meditation room decor, or in a bathroom styled like a home spa. The muted blues and sage green wall art tones pair easily with linen, light oak, stone and plants.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I paint in an old harbor warehouse in Gothenburg, where the light over the Kattegat changes from silver to rose within an hour. Eight years on the bridge of a ferry taught me to read the horizon in every kind of weather. I lay thin veils of oil with a wide brush and a knife, letting grey sea and pale sky melt into one soft band.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
