About the Artwork

A lake so still it holds the sky like a sheet of glass. Paola Medina paints a pale, cloudless sky in soft cream and ivory, a thin band of gray-brown trees along the far shore, and one low, rounded granite boulder resting near the edge. Its reflection sits right beneath it, slightly darker and softer, as if the water is quietly agreeing with the stone.

This lake canvas print comes from her Boardroom Horizons collection, and you can see the patience in it. The brushwork is thin and dry, with scraped textures in the sky and small flecks of rust on the boulder. It reads as a modern landscape painting that leaves plenty of room to breathe, an atmospheric landscape painting built from just a few calm tones.

It suits anyone who wants neutral landscape wall art that steadies a room instead of filling it. Think of a founder who likes a clear desk, a counselor or attorney who wants clients to settle in, or someone at home who prefers quiet over color. It is serene wall art without being sleepy.

As canvas wall art, it works as large office wall art behind a desk, as executive office decor in a corner suite, or as conference room wall art where long meetings need a calm focal point. It also fits a law office wall art plan, a reading nook, or a bedroom wall with linen and oak.

Once it hangs in a home, a painting should feel like a slow exhale. Years teaching yoga gave me a feel for balance and slowing down. My room in Colonia Americana, Guadalajara, is small and high-ceilinged. Marble dust in the acrylic gives a soft, chalky ground for one arch, circle or low horizon in sand and bone. The rest stays open.
