About the Artwork

Three round bales sit in a freshly mown pasture while the morning mist lifts off the tree line. This hay bales painting by Brielle Navarro catches the moment the first peach light reaches the nearest bale, warming its spiraled face while the two farther ones still wait in soft blue haze.

Brielle works in a soft contemporary style rooted in the impressionist landscape painting tradition. Short, layered strokes build the stubble field in sage, cream and faint rose, and loose dry-brush flicks pull stray straw off the bale edges. The sky stays pale and quiet, so the light on the hay does the talking.

It's a pastoral landscape painting for anyone who grew up near farmland, loves early drives past open fields, or just wants a calm, unhurried scene to come home to. The muted palette makes it an easy pick for neutral landscape wall art that sits well beside wood, linen and stone.

As canvas wall art, it brings country farmhouse wall decor warmth to a breakfast nook, works as farmhouse kitchen wall art above a sideboard, or anchors a sofa wall as landscape art for living room spaces. Choose a larger size for a large landscape canvas statement over a mantel or bed.

A weekend trip to Oaxaca in 2020 completely shifted how I see color and composition. The vibrant market stalls and ancient architecture there still show up in my abstract work today, blended with New Mexico's desert light.
