About the Artwork

That golden hour glow hits different when there's a Ferris wheel involved. This piece captures Galveston's historic pleasure pier at sunset, with the iconic amusement park rides silhouetted against a sky mixing coral, lavender, and warm yellows. The wooden pier pilings stretch into tide pools that mirror the whole scene back in rich purples and oranges. You can almost hear the waves and distant carnival music.

The brushwork here is loose and expressive, with thick paint strokes that give the water real movement. The artist nailed the way wet sand catches light, how reflections break apart and come back together. The contrast between the dark pier structure and that vibrant sky makes the whole composition pop without feeling forced.
