“Teaching diving in Hawaii for three years taught me to see underwater light patterns differently. Now I paint wildlife with those same flowing, translucent qualities I remember from forty feet down.”

About Silas

Silas Reeve once taught scuba diving in Hawaii, and three years of watching light forty feet underwater changed the way the artist sees. Reeve earned a BFA from RISD and now works from Bozeman, Montana, still chasing that flowing, translucent quality in paint.

The style pairs loose watercolor washes with a quiet, spiritual mood. City views make up much of the work. Toronto’s CN Tower is drawn in fine pen lines over pools of amber and blue, Pittsburgh’s yellow bridges double in dark water at night, and late sun warms the cobblestones of Old Quebec. Kitsilano Beach adds sand and turquoise shallows. Below, find Reeve’s best-selling canvases, printed on matte canvas and stretched over solid wood.
