About the Artwork

Some baths are so good you just give in. Daphne Voss painted this round pink pig sound asleep in a clawfoot tub, snout parked on the rim, eyes shut, a little curly tail poking out the back. Bubbles spill over the edge and run down the side in long white drips.

The splash watercolor style does a lot of the storytelling here. Teal washes pool across the tub, brass claw feet catch a little shine, and loose spatters of violet, ochre and rust bleed into the floor below. The pig's coat is built from soft pinks and cream with fine brushed hairs, so it reads warm and a bit fuzzy against the bare paper white.

This piece of funny bathroom decor is for anyone who likes a room that doesn't take itself too seriously. It suits farm animal fans, kids' bathrooms, and anyone who has ever nodded off in the tub themselves.

As canvas wall art, it hangs well above a tub or towel bar and works as easy bathroom wall decor next to white tile or soft blue walls. It's also a friendly bit of powder room wall art that guests will notice, and it pairs nicely with other bathroom canvas wall art from the Funny Bathroom Animals collection.

Working with my hands restoring antique furniture taught me about texture and patina. When I moved to Princeton in 2019, I started translating those weathered surfaces into abstract paintings that balance chaos and calm.

It looks amazing! The material creates the look of natural texture, even without raised detail.
