About the Artwork
This foggy morning painting starts close to the ground, right in the reeds. Wesley Danforth paints tall marsh grasses and a handful of cattails in the foreground, their brown seed heads standing straight while the blades lean and cross in loose, knife-like strokes. Behind them, a narrow ribbon of still water winds back into the marsh and simply disappears into fog.
It's an atmospheric landscape painting in the truest sense. The sky is built from soft cream, peach and pale blue, with thick dabs of paint that read like light trying to break through. The palette stays quiet, a pastel landscape painting where sage greens, sandy beiges and a cool blue in the water do all the talking.
For anyone who loves early walks, wetlands, or just a slower pace, this is neutral landscape wall art that settles a room instead of filling it. Collectors drawn to Japandi wall art will appreciate how much breathing room the fog leaves, and the blue and beige tones pair easily with linen, light wood and stone.
As horizontal canvas wall art, it fits nicely over a bed, a sofa or a long console. It works as calming wall art for bedroom walls, guest bedroom wall art that greets visitors gently, or spa wall decor in a bathroom or reading nook where you want the morning to feel unhurried.

Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I paint in a weathered shed behind my house in Gloucester, a few streets up from the harbor. Working as a sternman on a lobster boat taught me to read the changing light over water at dawn. My soft impressionist canvases are built from small, loose dabs of sand, mist and faded sea blue, kept low in contrast so the painting settles quietly into a room.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
