About the Artwork

This alpaca has clearly just had its head under the tap. It stands tall in a turquoise clawfoot tub, long neck straight up, while a soaked topknot flops down over its dark eyes. Sylvie Aldridge built the fleece with a palette knife, laying down thick ridges of cream, butterscotch and blush pink that look almost shaggy enough to touch.

Behind it, the wall breaks into patchwork slabs of sage, lavender and soft peach, and the tub sits on little pewter feet over a floor of warm, chunky color. It is quirky bathroom wall art with real paint texture, the kind of piece that gets a grin from anyone who walks in.

It is made for people who collect animals in bathtub wall art, who love a farmhouse bathroom wall art look with a playful twist, or who want something softer than the usual bathroom art prints. Fiber fans and alpaca lovers will spot their favorite animal right away.

Hang this farm animal bathroom decor as small bathroom wall art above the towel bar, or let it be the main event in a powder room wall art spot or half bath wall decor setup. As bathroom canvas wall art, its sage, lilac and aqua tones sit easily beside white tile, wood vanities or painted cabinets.

After years creating costumes for Boston theater productions, I discovered that mixing pigments felt just like dyeing fabrics. The transition from dressing characters to painting biblical scenes happened gradually, but the storytelling instinct remained the same.
