About the Artwork

A tall waterfall drops straight down a dark cliff face, and Silas Merrick built every inch of it with texture. The falling water is made from long palette knife pulls and vertical drips of teal and ivory, while the rock around it is stacked in charcoal, plum and slate blue. Thin streaks of gold run down the stone and flash right where the water catches the light.

At the base, the spray turns into a soft gray mist that settles over a still teal pool. Above the ridge, a pale blush sky keeps the whole scene calm.
