“Running emergency calls for eight years taught me to see patterns in chaos. Started with geometric sketches during downtime at the station, and those angular forms became the foundation for everything I create now.”

About Silas

Eight years as a paramedic taught Silas Merrick to spot structure in the middle of an emergency. Between calls at the station, Merrick made geometric sketches, and those angular forms became the base for everything since. Mostly self-taught, with the occasional workshop, the artist works in Richmond, Virginia.

Merrick’s style is abstract and geometric, balancing sharp lines with flowing curves. Popular pieces include ribbons of dusty rose and grey, planes bursting from a central vanishing point, marbled swirls of cream and charcoal and angular black, white and gold compositions. Gold accents trace the edges throughout. Take a look at the top sellers below, each printed on matte canvas and stretched over solid wood.
