About the Artwork
This eclipse painting catches the quiet second when the moon covers the sun completely. Hazel Brennan painted the moon's disc as a soft slate-lavender circle, smooth and still, with the sun's pearly corona glowing around its edge. Uneven streamers of cream, pale gold and powder blue reach outward, and two or three tiny blush prominences flicker right at the rim.
The sky around it is built from short, curved dabs of color, lavender, butter yellow, peach and dusty blue, swirling gently like a starry sky painting seen through soft focus. A small amber planet and a few pinpoint stars sit off to the side. It's a celestial painting that feels hushed rather than dramatic, part of Hazel's Soft Night Skies collection in her soft contemporary impressionist style.
It's for anyone who has stood outside with eclipse glasses and felt the air go still, or who simply loves the night sky in gentler tones. If you're drawn to pastel wall art that still has depth and texture, this one rewards a closer look.
As canvas wall art, it settles nicely above a bed, in a reading corner, or in a meditation or yoga space where you want calm wall art that holds the room without shouting. The muted blues and creams pair easily with linen, light wood and soft gray walls.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I paint in a small studio on the edge of Flagstaff, Arizona, the world's first Dark Sky City, where the stars still reach the ground at night. For years I designed shows for a planetarium dome. Now I give that same sky to canvas, in soft dabs of lavender, blush and pale gold, so the planets and the moon feel close and gentle, like a calm night you can hang on your wall.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
