Hazel Brennan
“I paint in a small studio on the edge of Flagstaff, Arizona, the world's first Dark Sky City, where the stars still reach the ground at night. For years I designed shows for a planetarium dome. Now I give that same sky to canvas, in soft dabs of lavender, blush and pale gold, so the planets and the moon feel close and gentle, like a calm night you can hang on your wall.”
About Hazel
Hazel Brennan paints in a small studio on the edge of Flagstaff, Arizona, the world’s first Dark Sky City, where the stars still reach the ground at night. Before she turned fully to the easel, she spent years designing shows for a planetarium dome, learning how to make a vast night sky feel welcoming rather than distant. That work taught her how light, color and scale can calm a room full of people looking up. She earned her BFA in Painting from Northern Arizona University, and today she brings that same sky down to eye level.
Working in oil on canvas, Hazel builds her planets, moons and starry fields from soft, visible dabs of lavender, blush and pale gold. Her Impressionist, painterly touch keeps every orb gentle and close, so a full moon or a ringed planet reads more like a quiet companion than a cold object in space. These canvases settle naturally into bedrooms and nurseries, reading nooks and meditation corners, and they bring a soft, dreamy glow to living rooms and hallways that want a calm night you can hang on the wall. Below are Brennan’s canvases in our shop, ready to hang.
