About the Artwork

Gothic spires rising against billowing clouds, the winding river catching afternoon light, that satisfying curve of the bridge leading your eye through the scene. This piece captures Durham's historic campus with a painter's eye for color and composition. The peachy-pink clouds soften the grey-blue sky while those greens in the foreground pulse with life.

The artist works in a loose impressionist style that keeps things interesting. Notice how the water reflections blend into abstract shapes up close, but read perfectly from across the room. The brushwork has energy without losing the sense of place. There's a romantic quality here that feels earned, not forced.

For Duke alums who want something more sophisticated than a photograph. Popular with parents of current students, anyone who spent formative years on this campus, or folks who simply appreciate collegiate Gothic architecture. This also makes a thoughtful graduation gift that won't end up in storage.

This anchors a home office or library nicely. The vertical format works well in spaces with higher ceilings. Those muted greens and soft blues play well with traditional furniture and darker wood tones.

After coordinating hundreds of weddings, I craved something quieter and more personal. Animals became my focus in 2013 when I started painting my neighbor's rescue dogs. The loose, expressive brushwork feels like freedom after years of managing timelines and vendor lists.
