About the Artwork

Harper Leighton painted this one like a lullaby. Soft, snow-capped peaks in blush, sand, and dusty blue rise over rolling hills, with little pines tucked along every slope. Above them, a thin crescent moon and a handful of tiny stars sit in a peach and lavender evening sky.

The texture is what makes it. Thick, buttery knife and brush strokes sweep across each ridge and cloud, so the snow looks almost frosted on. It's soft contemporary impressionism with a quiet, hand-made feel, and among our mountain art prints it's one of the gentlest.

As mountain nursery decor, it sets a calm, sleepy tone without leaning cartoonish, which means it grows with a child. It also suits anyone who wants a softer take on blue mountain wall art, or parents who love the outdoors and want a little of it over the crib.

Hang this canvas wall art above a crib, a changing table, or a reading nook. The wide mountain range canvas also works as mountain nursery wall art in a shared kids' room, or in a bedroom with linen, light wood, and warm neutral tones.

Moving to North Carolina's mountains in 2019 after years styling food in sterile studios made me crave natural light and honest color. I found myself sketching the Blue Ridge peaks between coffee shop shifts, then spending entire weekends with oils trying to catch how morning mist changes everything.
