About the Artwork

This cotton painting canvas keeps things simple. A bundle of dried cotton stems leans out of a plain stoneware crock, each boll split open to show soft white fiber cupped in brittle brown husks. Maren Hollis built every boll with thick palette knife strokes, so the cotton looks almost puffy enough to pinch.

Behind the crock, the backdrop is a patchwork of pale aqua, cream, and faint lavender, laid down in broad, flat swipes of the knife. The jug itself is a warm sand tone with one teal stripe around its belly, and the tabletop picks up those same colors in loose, layered streaks.

It's a piece for anyone who likes country wall decor that feels calm rather than cluttered. If your style leans modern rustic wall art, with clean lines and natural textures, this one fits right in without trying too hard.

Hang this canvas wall art above a coffee bar, a sideboard, or an open shelf as farmhouse kitchen wall art. It also works as farmhouse bathroom wall art over a vanity, or in an entryway where the soft colors can greet you on the way in.

Working with patients taught me to see healing in unexpected places. I started painting scripture verses as gifts for my church family in 2019, but the abstract backgrounds began taking over the canvases. Now those color fields tell their own stories.
