Contemporary Abstract Crimson Vortex - Canvas Wall Art

Dexter Vaughn started this one at the center and kept turning. A tight coil of burnt crimson and golden amber winds outward from a dark core, each ring laid down in thick, ridged paint you can almost feel from across the room. It reads as a textured abstract canvas even in print, with every knife edge and dragged bristle still showing.

As the spiral opens up, the strokes loosen into sweeping bands of violet and slate teal, with cream showing through between them. Charcoal brown slashes cut across the arms, and small drips and splatters fly off the outer edge like the whole thing is still spinning. It's a layered abstract painting that rewards a second and third look.

This contemporary abstract wall art is for people who like color with some weight behind it. If you want a piece that brings energy without shouting, and warm reds that play nicely with cooler purples and teals, this is a good match. It works as abstract canvas wall art for a first real art purchase or as the anchor of a growing collection.

The horizontal abstract wall art format makes it a natural choice for abstract art above couch spaces, over a sideboard, or behind a desk in a home office. Hang it where the light hits the painted texture and let the spiral pull the room together. Printed as canvas wall art from Dexter's original painting.
