“Working cruise ships for six years gave me access to coastlines most people never see. The way morning light hit different ports from Santorini to Alaska taught me more about color than any classroom could have.”

About Dexter

Dexter Vaughn’s eye for color was shaped at sea. Over six years working on cruise ships, Vaughn saw coastlines most travelers miss and watched morning light change from Santorini to Alaska. Those mornings became the real color education, alongside a BFA from Penn State. Home today is Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Impressionist light and expressionist color drive Vaughn’s canvases. Quebec City is a favorite, with the Château Frontenac above the St. Lawrence, along with Montreal after a snowfall and Niagara Falls lined with tulips at golden hour. A New Orleans street band adds a bit of music. Scroll down for the most popular Vaughn designs, stretched over solid wood and ready to hang.
