About the Artwork

This piece frames Columbus through a golden hour glow that makes the city feel like a warm memory. The skyline features recognizable downtown towers and a prominent bridge spanning water that reflects amber, rust, and teal in loose, painterly strokes. Foliage frames the edges with burgundy, gold, and olive tones, while abstract brushwork in the sky adds energy without overwhelming the scene.

The artist takes a realistic subject and pushes it toward something more expressive. Colors lean warmer than reality, giving the whole piece an idealized, almost nostalgic quality. The water's surface gets special attention with rippling reflections that add movement.

For Ohio natives or anyone who's called Columbus home, this hits different. It's the kind of piece that makes you remember why you love a place. Makes a thoughtful gift for someone who moved away or anyone proud to call the city theirs.

This canvas wall art works well in a living room or office where you want something with local character. The warm palette complements spaces with wood tones or neutral walls.

After five years pushing papers at an insurance company, I took a weekend painting class in 2016 that completely redirected my life. The instructor showed us how Monet built light with broken color, and I knew I had to learn that language. Now I spend my days chasing New England's shifting seasons with my easel.
