About the Artwork

Low tide has left a string of shallow pools across a flat sandbar, and each one holds a piece of the dawn sky. Lennox Carver painted the water in pale blue and blush, then built up the sand around it with thick palette-knife strokes in cream, tan and a few flecks of ochre and deep blue. Out past the ridges, a soft fog bank rests over the sea and the waves fade into it.
