About the Artwork
Bologna tumbles down the hillside in this painting, house after house in pink, coral, red and sunny yellow, each one dotted with small dark windows. A white church spire and a slim pink tower rise above the rooftops, and behind them roll blue and violet hills under puffy clouds in candy pink, peach and cream. The word Bologna is lettered by hand across the sky.
Giulia Amato paints with flat, confident blocks of color and soft edges, letting the shapes of the buildings stack like a patchwork. This bologna art piece from our Italian Towns in Colour collection feels cheerful and handmade, closer to a sunny memory than a map.
It's a lovely pick for anyone who has wandered under Bologna's porticoes, studied there, or simply dreams of a trip to Emilia-Romagna. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a food lover or a friend with Italian roots.
As canvas wall art, it brings warmth to a kitchen, dining nook, entryway or a bright living room. The pinks and blues pair easily with white walls, light wood and colorful textiles, and it looks great on its own or grouped with other Italian towns from the series.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
For ten years I painted lemons and fishing boats on majolica tiles in a workshop above the beach in Vietri. The glazes taught me to trust flat, fearless colour. Now I paint the towns of the coast the same way: pink houses, lemon trees and that impossible blue, brushed fast in gouache and acrylic.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
