About the Artwork

One dried fan palm, one old clay bottle, and a lot of quiet space. Lacey Brower painted the leaf with its pleats opening wide like a paper fan, each fold shifting between sage, sand and a little honey, with a few stray touches of blush where the frond has weathered. The thin stalk drops straight down into a rust-red bottle worn with pale scuffs, and a soft shadow pools to its left on the ledge.
