About the Artwork

Annika Lindgren painted these anemones the way they look on a cool spring morning. Three are dusty blue, with pigment pooling darker toward the petal edges. One is almost pure white, with only a faint wash of lavender. Each has a deep navy center ringed by a crown of dotted stamens, set on a feathery collar of pale sage leaves.

This blue and white flower painting comes from her splash watercolor style. The color is allowed to bloom and settle on its own, so you see soft blooms, hard edges where the wash dried, and thin curving stems that lean into each other.
