About the Artwork

This blue and orange abstract painting is built around one jagged seam. Graham Delaney dragged burnt orange and burnished amber diagonally across the canvas with a palette knife, splitting a field of electric teal from a deep midnight navy. Along the edges of that seam, small chips of magenta violet catch the light like flecks of mineral in rock.

The paint sits thick here. You can see every ridge the knife left behind, the long pulled lines in the teal, the heavy swept strokes in the navy, the cream highlights folded into the amber.
