About the Artwork
One long breath of black ink, laid down in a single pass. Hanna Lindqvist pulled this stroke across raw cream in a slow, shallow wave. It swells full and wet through the middle, then thins out into a dry, feathered tail where you can count the separate bristle lines. Faint knife marks and pale washes in the ground give the surface a quiet, weathered depth.
This black and white minimalist painting comes from our Black Ink Gestures collection, and it leans on the sumi tradition without copying it. The imperfect edges and uneven ground make it true wabi sabi wall art, and the restraint keeps it honest. It reads as black and cream abstract art up close and as one clean line from across the room.
It suits people who like a calm wall more than a busy one. If you are drawn to japandi wall art, natural linen, pale wood and plenty of open space, this piece will feel at home. It is also an easy pick for anyone after modern minimalist wall art that still shows the hand of the painter.
Printed as canvas wall art, the wide format sits well above a low sofa as abstract canvas art for living room walls, over a headboard as black and white bedroom wall art, or along a sideboard as abstract art for dining room spaces. Pair it with other black and white wall decor for a simple, grounded look.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I spent nine years finishing lime-plaster walls in old Duluth houses, and learned that a wall with almost nothing on it can still feel alive. In 2018 I moved from walls to canvas. I paint a stone, a branch, a far horizon or a single stroke, in chalk, oat and warm sand, and leave the rest to breathe.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
