About the Artwork

This is black and gold abstract art with real weight to it. Dorian Whitfield dragged a wide band of burnished gold across a deep charcoal ground, then pressed ivory and silver grey alongside it so the paint ridges and cracks like a dry riverbed. Thin gold and silver drips fall from the current, and one small spot of crimson sits right in the middle of it all, glowing like an ember.
