About the Artwork
Raymond Kincaid built this one slab by slab. A stepped ziggurat of charcoal and black rises from the center, each tier laid down flat with the palette knife so you can see the ridges, the scraped edges, and little flecks of ochre showing through. Above and around it, fine gold rays fan outward, cut into the cream and gray with the edge of the knife until they catch the light like old brass inlay.
It reads as black and gold wall art first, but up close it is all texture. The thick impasto gives the tiers real weight, while the background breaks into a patchwork of sand, slate gray, and warm amber strokes. It nods to 1920s wall art and skyscraper ornament without feeling like a copy of anything.
This is for anyone who loves art deco canvas art with a handmade edge, or who wants metallic gold wall art that feels earned rather than shiny. It suits a glam wall art look just as easily as a quieter room built around neutrals and dark wood.
As art deco home decor, this canvas wall art works well above a black lacquer console, in a dining room with brass fixtures, or in a home office where you want a strong vertical focal point. The tall format draws the eye upward, so it shines in hallways, beside a bar cart, or flanking a fireplace.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
When I pick a scene, I look for forms simple enough to build in a few planes: a saguaro, a canyon, a monsoon sky over the Rincon Mountains. Servicing jet engines gave me respect for tools. So I lay thick slabs of oil with a knife, burnt orange against violet shadow, and scrape the edges clean in one pass.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
