Valentina Ricci

“I drew catwalk looks for Milan fashion houses for six years, fast, a few strokes per dress. When I started painting I kept the speed and left the catwalk behind. My women are seen from behind on a terrace in Positano or at a café table with a spritz, in quick, loose strokes of orange, fuchsia and sea blue.”

About Valentina

Valentina Ricci is a painter based in Milan, Italy, who spent six years drawing catwalk looks for Milan fashion houses after studying fashion illustration at Istituto Marangoni. That job demanded speed: a whole dress captured in a few confident strokes, often before the model had left the runway. When she turned to painting, she kept that quick, sure hand and left the catwalk behind.

Working in acrylic and oil on canvas, Valentina paints women seen from behind, lingering on a terrace in Positano or sitting at a café table with a spritz. Her loose, rapid brushwork sits between Expressionism and Impressionism, built from bright orange, fuchsia and sea blue that carry the warmth of an Italian summer afternoon. These canvases bring a relaxed, sunlit mood to a living room, a dining area, a bedroom or an entryway, and they pair especially well with light walls and natural textures. Below are Ricci’s canvases in our shop, ready to hang.
