Collection: Nursery Wall Art
Nursery wall art with a gentle touch: a sea turtle gliding through sunlit water, Highland cows in misty meadows, deer at a river's edge, watercolor butterflies, a mallard at dusk and seagulls over soft coastal waves.
Elevate your space with our Nursery Wall Art Canvas Art
A nursery is seen at every hour: in morning sun, by a dim lamp at 2 a.m., and from a glider a few feet away. Art here should feel soft in all of them. Gentle animals and muted colors work best, and they give a child something to point at and name. This nursery wall art gathers creatures from meadow, river and sea, plus a few quiet coastal scenes.
Gentle woodland and farm animals
Deer Herd at River's Edge shows five deer reflected in a shallow river, in soft blues and greens. Soft Watercolor Deer sets a stag at the forest edge above drips of amber and rose. Highland Cow in Mist stands among wildflowers in a foggy meadow, Highland Cow by the Lake stands knee-deep in still water below orange and teal hills, and Iconic Highland Cow in Snow shows a shaggy caramel coat in falling snow.
Butterflies and birds
Bright Yellow Butterfly floats on a light watercolor wash, its sunny wings edged in burgundy. Affectionate Butterfly Kiss gathers three butterflies among pink and cream flowers. Two golden canaries perch side by side in Calm Canary Chirp, framed by coral blooms on deep blue. Meditative Mallard Moment glides across a still lake at dusk, and Regal Peacock Splendor White and Gold shows a white peacock under an arch of golden leaves.
Soft coastal scenes
Our best-selling piece in this collection is Hilton Head Island Sea Turtle Journey: a sea turtle glides through turquoise water as gold light filters down from the surface. Myrtle Beach Seagulls In Flight keeps to sand, seafoam and a hazy peach-blue sky, and Naples Gulf Shore Serenity sends a pier into turquoise water under a peachy sky.
Hanging art safely in a nursery
- Not above the crib. Never hang art directly over the crib. Use the wall above a dresser, changing table or glider.
- Size it to the furniture. Aim for two-thirds of its width: a 24×16 canvas over a 36-inch dresser, or 36×24 over a 54-inch one.
- Hang it securely. Each canvas is stretched over solid wood bars with a sawtooth hanger. Use a screw in a stud or a rated anchor, and center the art at 57 to 60 inches, or 8 to 10 inches above the dresser.
- Make a set. The three Highland cow pieces above are vertical and hang well as a trio, 2 to 3 inches apart.
- Plan for night light. Soft tones stay calm under a night-light. Canvas has no glass, and a dry cloth is all it needs for dusting.
