About the Artwork
Three thick ridges of white modeling paste sweep across the lower half of this piece in one gentle arc, like a single breath of wind drawn in relief. Nathan Garvey laid each line with a heavy hand, so the edges stay rounded and slightly ragged, and the soft shadows they cast do the work that color usually does.
Behind the curves, the ivory field is built from knife-scraped layers with sandy patches showing through, the kind of worn, imperfect surface that makes this feel like true wabi sabi wall art. It reads as a white on white wall art study in light and texture, closer to a white plaster painting than a flat print, with a calm 3d textured look from across the room.
This is for people who want quiet on the wall. If your home leans Japandi, minimal, or organic modern, it fits right in, and it suits anyone who prefers neutral textured wall art that rewards a second look over loud color. Fans of plaster relief wall art will appreciate how the paste ridges catch the light.
Hang this canvas wall art over a linen sofa, above a low oak bed, or in an entry with natural light that rakes across the surface. As modern white wall art, it pairs easily with stone, wood, and soft whites, and it holds its own on a large blank wall without crowding the space.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I work in a small studio in Southeast Portland, usually with rain on the skylight. For six years I tended trees at a bonsai nursery, and pruning taught me that removing things is most of the work. My paintings start with a wide field of warm white, then a few brushed marks in ink grey or clay, set down quickly and never reworked.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
