About the Artwork

Douglas Pruitt drew this woman's face in one unbroken charcoal line. Her eyes are closed, and one hand rises so the fingertips rest lightly against her cheek. The line presses heavier at the brow and along the fingers, then thins to almost nothing along the jaw. Loose gray washes behind her keep everything soft.

This piece of single line drawing wall art comes from our One Line Figures collection. It holds a quiet, private moment, the kind of pause you take before the day starts or after it ends. The cream ground and smoky grays make it an easy fit for neutral minimalist wall art lovers.

It suits anyone drawn to one line drawing wall art, calm faces, and work that feels hand-made rather than printed by the thousand. It also makes a thoughtful gift for someone who values rest and stillness.

Hang this canvas wall art above a nightstand as minimalist bedroom wall art, or near a reading chair. Its pale tones and clean restraint also sit well in a japandi wall art setting with linen, light wood, and stone.

I work out of a small barn studio just outside Portland, Maine, where the fog rolls in most mornings. Before painting full time I was a newspaper photo editor, and twenty years of black and white prints trained my eye for tone over colour. I build each canvas slowly in oil, softening harbors and pine lines into gentle greys with a broad brush and a few charcoal accents.

It looks amazing!

It looks amazing! The material creates the look of natural texture, even without raised detail.
