About the Artwork
Gordon Fenwick built this piece the way fog settles over a lake at dawn. Soft horizontal bands of sage, pale aqua and chalky white are brushed on in thin, overlapping layers, with a warm wash of cream near the top like the sun trying to break through. Right through the middle runs one fine, wavering thread of gold, catching light the way a ripple does on still water.
It's a quiet take on sage green and gold wall art. You can see the brush drag and the scraped texture across the surface, so it reads as a hand painted abstract canvas art piece rather than a flat graphic. The gold is used sparingly, which is exactly why it holds your eye, a gold leaf abstract painting that whispers instead of shouts.
This is for anyone who wants calm on the wall. If you love muted, earthy palettes, Scandinavian simplicity or a soft coastal mood without the seashells, this one fits. It also works as a gold accent wall art piece for rooms that already have a few brass or gold touches.
Hang this canvas wall art above a bed, a linen sofa or a console in the entry. The tall format suits narrow walls and pairs well with natural wood, white oak, greenery and warm white walls.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I work from a second floor studio in Ballard with a view of grey Puget Sound water. Years as a ferry deckhand gave me endless hours watching rain, mist and islands fade into one tone. On canvas I drag oil across in broad, soft passes, scrape back with a knife and let slate grey and warm cream drift together, with a small coral glow near the horizon.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
