About the Artwork
A heavy cast-iron bench vise sits clamped to the edge of a worn workbench, its jaws closed tight on a rusty toothed gear. Colleen Rasmussen built the whole scene with a palette knife, laying down thick ridges of steel gray flecked with red, blue and orange, so the metal looks scuffed and used.
The background is a patchwork of sand and ochre slabs, scraped on in broad strokes that catch the light. That rust orange gear pulls the eye right to the center. It's a piece of rustic industrial decor that feels honest, like something you'd find on the wall of a shop that has seen decades of work.
This is still life wall art for anyone who has spent hours at a bench fixing things. It makes a good gift for a machinist, a mechanic or a weekend tinkerer, and it works as wall art for men who like tools more than flowers.
Hang this canvas wall art in a garage, a home workshop or a basement bar. It fits right in with man cave decor, leather chairs and exposed brick, and it adds warmth to a cool, gray room as industrial wall art with real texture.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I paint in a loft in Pilsen, Chicago, with the windows open to the passing trains. Ten years hanging lights for theater taught me how a single warm beam can make a cool space glow. My abstracts are built from thick knife-laid slabs of oil, hot orange cut against cobalt and teal, with scraped edges and raised ridges catching the light.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
