About the Artwork
Leo Hartwell piled a low cobalt bowl with glossy oranges, set one halved lemon right up front, and tucked two full pink peonies among the fruit. The cloth underneath is the scene-stealer: a cream drape covered in big, hand-painted dots of tomato red and mustard. This is polka dot wall art that still reads as a proper still life flower painting.
The Mid-Century Painted style keeps everything flat and confident. There's a brushy coral-pink wall with visible strokes, simple green leaves edged in teal, and soft highlights on each orange. The lemon's pale segments are drawn out wedge by wedge, a small detail that gives the whole piece its charm.
It's for anyone who likes their color loud and their decor a little playful. If you collect maximalist wall art, or you've been looking for peony wall art that isn't the usual soft-focus bouquet, this one has personality to spare. It's quirky wall art with a steady hand behind it.
Hang this canvas wall art in a breakfast nook, above a kitchen sideboard, or in a dining room that could use some warmth. It also pairs well with patterned wallpaper, bright ceramics and open shelving full of mismatched dishes.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I designed printed fabrics for a mill in Long Beach for eleven years, and I still think in a few simple shapes: a leaf, a pebble, a half-circle. In 2016 I left the mill for the canvas. I paint a handful of those shapes at a time, by hand, in mustard, rust and teal, and leave the brush marks in.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
