About the Artwork

Two tall pointed leaf shapes lean into each other here, one dusty teal and one muted ochre, and where they overlap the paint turns a deep olive brown. Below them a thin fern green arc swings across the cream ground, with a small rust pebble resting off to the side like an afterthought.

Hannah Pratt painted this with thick, visible brushwork. The cream background carries sweeping strokes that echo the curves of the shapes, and a flat band of soft gray anchors the bottom. It reads as mid century wall decor with a hand-made feel, a piece of mid century modern abstract art that stays calm and simple.

It suits anyone who likes earth tone abstract wall art and quiet, balanced compositions. If your space leans toward teak furniture, linen, and warm wood, this minimalist abstract canvas art will feel right at home.

Hang this mid century modern canvas art above a sideboard, a reading chair, or a bed with neutral bedding. As geometric canvas wall art, it also works well in an entryway or a home office where a bit of color and shape is welcome without getting loud.

I paint in a shared studio in Southeast Portland, next to a printmaker and a woodworker. Arranging flowers for a neighborhood florist taught me how shapes balance in a small space. My paintings turn houseplants, pears and ferns into rounded, simple silhouettes in muted ochre, dusty teal and oat, and I leave the dry-brush texture showing at every edge.

It looks amazing!

It looks amazing! The material creates the look of natural texture, even without raised detail.
