About the Artwork
Gary Lindquist took one simple circle and cut it clean across the middle. The top half, packed with thick black impasto, slides a little to the left. The bottom half, in pale grey and cream, slides a little to the right. A thin line runs straight through both, and grey paint drips down from the lower edge onto the cream ground.
Everything here was laid down with a palette knife. You can see the ridges, the cracked edges and the curved sweeps where the blade dragged through wet paint. This large black and white canvas has the quiet, imperfect texture people look for in wabi sabi wall art, with a structure that still feels crisp and geometric.
It suits anyone who likes a calm, restrained palette but wants a piece with real surface and weight. If your home leans toward japandi wall art, soft linen, oak and stone, this fits right in, and it pairs easily with other black and cream wall art.
Hang this canvas wall art above a bed, a low console in the entryway, or a sofa in a neutral living room. The tall format works well on a narrow wall, and the strong black half gives the eye a clear place to land from across the room.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
Spacing and rhythm make me stop and look at a scene. Setting type for a newspaper made it plain that those matter as much as the letters themselves. In a former machine shop loft under industrial lamps, I start from press-room black and paper white. Cool steel greys go between. The eye climbs the contrast like a ladder.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
