About the Artwork

This lake painting takes you to a quiet stone village perched above still blue water. A slender bell tower rises between terracotta rooftops, a dark cypress stands beside it, and a narrow path winds down through green brush toward the shore. Across the lake, steep mountains fall straight into their own reflections.

Luca Santoro paints it with loose, confident strokes in his vibrant modern impressionist style. The cliffs are built from layered blues, the clouds catch a warm golden light, and a single white sailboat drifts across the glassy surface. You can see the brush moving in the walls of the houses and the ripples of the water.

It's for anyone who has stood at the edge of an Italian lake and wanted to keep that calm, or for someone still planning the trip. The cool blues paired with those warm rooftops make it easy to live with day after day.

Hang this canvas wall art above a sofa, in a bedroom where you want a peaceful view, or in a hallway that needs a window to somewhere else. It sits well with navy, cream, and natural wood, and brings a touch of Lake Orta to any room.

For twelve years I worked the ferries between Naples, Sorrento and Capri, watching the coast change colour hour by hour. I painted on my days off, then every day. My canvases are the coast as a sailor sees it: towns stacked on the cliffs, Vesuvius over the bay, Venice and Portofino in full sun, in bright, broken strokes of oil.

It looks amazing!

It looks amazing! The material creates the look of natural texture, even without raised detail.
