About the Artwork
This highland cow painting by Ignacio Barrera meets you head-on. The cow stands square in heavy snowfall, flakes caught in its long shaggy fringe and dusted along the tips of its curved horns. Two faint puffs of breath drift from its nose into the cold air, and its amber eyes peer out from under all that hair.
Ignacio builds the coat with thick palette-knife strokes of golden ochre, tan and deep brown, then slips in streaks of cobalt blue and violet that catch the light like frost. Behind it, loose sweeps of dusty teal and cream suggest a winter sky and drifting snow, with drips of paint running down the canvas for a raw, hand-made feel.
It's a good fit for anyone who loves farm animal wall art with some personality, or who wants highland cow wall decor that feels painted rather than printed. Cow lovers, folks with Scottish roots and anyone who likes a cozy winter scene will get a lot out of it.
Hang this canvas wall art over a farmhouse mantel, in an entryway, a cabin living room or a reading nook where the warm browns and cool blues can play off wood, wool and stone. It holds a wall on its own and works just as well through the colder months as all year round.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I work in oil and pigment washes, on subjects that can carry strong color. Mixing dyes in a textile factory made me watch pigment shift with heat, time and fabric. In my courtyard studio near Puebla's old market, each canvas starts in deep shadow. Blue, magenta and orange go on wet into wet. They bleed. I pull them back.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
