About the Artwork

A portrait this refined doesn't need introduction. You're looking at Benjamin Franklin seated at his desk, captured in oils that balance formality with approachability. The sage green coat, golden vest, stack of leather-bound books, and quill pen tell the story of a statesman and thinker. The muted olive and amber palette gives it warmth without being showy.

This style leans into classical portraiture, the kind that hung in colonial-era homes. Soft lighting on the face, careful attention to fabric texture, background kept atmospheric so nothing competes with the subject. It's restrained in the best sense.

This one lands with history buffs, Franklin fans, anyone in Pennsylvania or connected to Philadelphia, and folks who appreciate American heritage. Makes a thoughtful gift for teachers, lawyers, writers, or anyone who values wit and wisdom.

Feels right in home offices, libraries, dens, or formal dining rooms. The traditional styling means it fits naturally alongside wood furniture and built-in bookshelves. Canvas wall art that carries some weight, literally and figuratively.

The light hitting the water at Cliff Walk during my lunch breaks from the locksmith shop made me curious about painting. Started with small canvases in my garage, trying to capture those fleeting afternoon moments by the ocean.
