About the Artwork

Some dogs nap. This one has made a full commitment to it. Elias Granger painted a red dachshund curled tight on a chunky knitted blanket, nose tucked in, ears flopped, tail wrapped around the edge. A pale bar of window light falls across a deep cobalt wall behind him, and you can almost feel the warmth on his back.

The style is contemporary pop art with a printmaker's touch. The cable knit is turned into bold, flat sage loops outlined in black, and the dog's coat is built from a few confident tones of copper, rust and cream. It reads clearly from across the room and still rewards a close look at the brushy textures. It's a wiener dog painting that feels calm instead of cute.

This is doxie art for anyone who knows the exact weight of a dachshund pressed against their leg on a cold afternoon. It makes a thoughtful gift for a new puppy owner, a longtime sausage dog wall art collector, or someone remembering a favorite old dog who loved the softest spot in the house.

As dachshund home decor, it settles in naturally above a reading chair, in a bedroom, or along a hallway where the blue can catch the daylight. This dachshund art print comes as ready-to-hang canvas wall art, and it pairs well with knit throws, warm wood and a dog bed nearby.

After my divorce in 2018, I moved back to Birmingham and rented a garage behind my sister's house. What started as weekend experiments with color became something I couldn't stop doing. Banking felt like a different lifetime.
