About the Artwork

Two bay horses lean in until their noses meet, and the arch of their necks draws a soft heart in the space between them. Kelsey Morgan painted the faces with care, from the white blazes and dark, calm eyes to the velvety muzzles, then let everything else loosen up.

Past the heads, the bodies break into thick palette knife strokes of pink, coral, and plum, with drips of metallic gold running through the manes and a few streaks of teal in a cream background. It reads as abstract horse wall art up close and as a tender portrait from across the room, a contemporary horse art piece with real texture you can see in the light.

It suits anyone who grew up around barns or simply loves an equestrian painting that feels warm rather than formal. It also makes a thoughtful gift for couples, sisters, or best friends who see themselves in that quiet touch.

Hang this canvas wall art above a bed, a sofa, or a console in an entry where the pinks and gold can catch the light. It pairs well with blush textiles, warm wood, and brass accents, and holds its own as the one statement piece in a room.

Years of twisting balloons for parties left me with two habits: trusting soft color to carry joy, and committing fast. Both follow me into every painting. I push thick blush pinks and corals around with a palette knife, then add mint strokes and gold leaf. It all happens in a second-floor room in East Nashville, windows open.
