Tyler Bennett

Tyler Bennett dialed in roast profiles as a coffee roaster for years, then started painting Chicago’s skyline from memory in 2016. The industrial colors and hard geometry of an old warehouse job keep finding their way into the work. Bennett, who also has a background in interior design, is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Impressionism meets abstraction in these city scenes, set in blues, beiges and silver. Chicago is the constant. The Tribune Tower rises like a Gothic cathedral under a swirling night sky, the Carbide and Carbon Building catches morning light by Lake Michigan, and the Route 66 shield marks the start of the old highway.
