About Sutton

Sutton Hale picked up a brush during rehab, after a torn ACL ended a college hockey career in 2015. The first paintings were still lifes of old gear. Later, Hale turned to the motion and energy that competitive sports had provided. The former athlete holds a BA in Art from the University of Florida and works in Burlington, Vermont.

Hale’s style is rooted in impressionism, yet the best sellers are bold geometric abstracts. Shapes radiate from a central point in pairings like yellow and grey, blush pink with charcoal, black and grey, and navy with gold, often traced with metallic accents. The canvases below are ready to hang, each printed on matte canvas over solid wood.
