About Renee
Renee Dalton paints in a converted garage studio in West Asheville, North Carolina, just a few blocks from where she spent ten years lettering storefront signs by hand. That decade of sign painting taught her to commit to a stroke and never fuss over it, a lesson she carried with her after earning a BFA in Painting from Appalachian State University. Today that same confidence shows in every mark she makes.
Working in oil on linen with steel palette knives, Renee builds each canvas in thick, deliberate layers. She sets warm slabs of cadmium against cool blues until the ridges of paint catch the light, creating modern, expressionist pieces with real texture and energy. Her bold color and sculpted surfaces bring warmth to a living room, depth to an entryway, and a lively focal point to a dining room or creative home office. Below are Dalton’s canvases in our shop, ready to hang.
