Mariana Escobedo
“Flowers, waves and figures keep pulling me back. Each one starts as sweeping knife strokes and soft translucent glazes in my sunlit Little Havana studio, windows open to the street. Then come drips and gold, until the form appears. Years as a pastry chef, working ganache and fondant, left me loving thick, glossy texture.”

About Mariana
Mariana Escobedo paints in a sunlit studio in Little Havana, Miami, Florida, with the windows open to the street. She spent years as a pastry chef, and working with ganache and fondant taught her to love thick, glossy texture. She earned a BFA in Painting from Florida International University.
Working in acrylic with heavy gel medium and metallic gold paint, Mariana starts each canvas with sweeping knife strokes and soft translucent glazes, then adds drips and gold accents until a flower, a wave or a figure slowly appears. Her expressive abstract canvases add energy to a living room, bedroom or entryway. Below are Escobedo’s canvases in our shop, ready to hang.
