“After years of traveling with Ringling Brothers, I settled in Nashville and started painting the horses I'd worked with. My design background helps me compose scenes, but it's the memory of those animals that drives every brushstroke.”

About Mae

Mae Holliday traveled for years as a circus performer before settling in Nashville, Tennessee. The first paintings were of the horses Holliday had worked with, and memories of those animals still drive the work. A degree in graphic design helps with composition, though the painting itself is self-taught.

Holliday’s impressionist style is warm and often playful. Bears turn up again and again: one resting by Big Bear Lake, two dancing in moonlight, one in teal glasses and a plaid suit. City scenes balance the wildlife, from the Dallas skyline at sunset to the palms of Key West. The best sellers below are printed on matte canvas and ready to hang.
