“I work out of a converted garage in Kansas City with the radio always on. For nine years I dressed department store windows, which taught me to make a shape read from across the street. My mid-century paintings lean bright: saturated mustard, teal and tangerine laid down in flat, confident blocks, with boomerangs, starbursts and leafy forms brushed by hand so the strokes stay visible.”
