“Working at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for three years taught me to see brushwork differently. I'd spend lunch breaks sketching in the American Wing, studying how Hassam captured Richmond's humid light. Now I paint the same streets he might have walked, finding poetry in ordinary afternoons.”

About Elodie

Richmond, Virginia, is home base for Elodie Wren, a former museum docent with a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. Three years at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts changed how Wren sees brushwork. Lunch breaks went to sketching in the American galleries, studying how an earlier painter caught the city’s humid light.

Wren’s impressionist style favors soft blues, warm browns and touches of orange. The scenes travel well beyond Virginia: Manhattan glowing over the Hudson at dusk, palm-lined Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa, a Key West dock on turquoise water and Lake Tahoe’s Emerald Bay. Scroll down for the artist’s most popular canvases, each printed on matte canvas and ready to hang.
