“I grew up between the tables of my parents' trattoria in Bologna and spent my twenties rolling pastry at four in the morning. Food is how my family talks, so I paint it: spaghetti by an open shutter, lasagna under an orange tree, a moka pot at breakfast, in the warm, unhurried light of a kitchen after lunch.”

About Elena

Elena Fabbri grew up weaving between the tables of her parents’ trattoria in Bologna, where food was the language her family spoke best. She spent her twenties as the restaurant’s pastry cook, rolling dough at four in the morning, and those early hours taught her patience, a feel for texture, and an eye for the quiet beauty of a kitchen at work. She later trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, and she still lives and paints in the city that raised her.

Working in oil and gouache on canvas, Elena paints food the way she remembers it: spaghetti by an open shutter, lasagna beneath an orange tree, a moka pot catching the breakfast light. Her painterly, Impressionist brushwork captures the warm, unhurried glow of a kitchen after lunch, when the dishes can wait. These canvases feel right at home in kitchens, dining rooms, and breakfast nooks, anywhere people gather to eat and linger. Below are Fabbri’s canvases in our shop, ready to hang.
