“Recording voiceovers for meditation apps taught me to appreciate silence and stillness. When I moved to Austin in 2019, I started sketching the stray cats in my neighborhood. Those simple drawings led me to painting, where I found I could capture the free-spirited energy of animals through loose, flowing watercolor techniques.”

About Celeste

Celeste Monroe came to painting from the recording booth. Years of voiceover work for meditation apps gave the former voice actor a feel for silence and stillness. After moving to Austin, Texas, in 2019, Monroe began sketching the stray cats around the neighborhood, and those simple drawings grew into painting. The artist holds a BFA from SCAD.

Monroe’s style is boho, loose and relaxed, with warm browns, beiges and oranges against soft blue. Our customers favor the cityscapes and wild places: wrought-iron balconies on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, the Sandia Mountains at golden hour above Albuquerque, Horseshoe Falls softened by morning mist and sailboats at rest in Coal Harbour.
