About the Artwork
This black and white cow painting doesn't look away. A Holstein stands square to you, ears out wide, dark eyes steady, pink-edged muzzle catching the light. Gary Lindquist built every patch with a palette knife, so the black and cream ridges sit thick on the surface like carved plaster against a plain pale gray ground.
Only the head, neck and top of the shoulders fill the frame, and that tight crop is what makes it work. You notice the tufted forelock, the fine whiskers, the cracks and drips in the paint. It reads as a cow oil painting with real weight to it, calm and a little funny at the same time.
It's for anyone who grew up around dairy barns, collects farm animal paintings, or just likes a bold cow painting with a quiet sense of humor. The limited palette keeps it graphic and easy to live with, a step beyond the usual cattle wall art.
Hang this canvas wall art in a kitchen, a mudroom or above a rustic console where it can meet guests eye to eye. The black, cream and soft gray sit well with whitewashed wood, iron hardware and linen, making it natural farmhouse wall art for a modern country home.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
Spacing and rhythm make me stop and look at a scene. Setting type for a newspaper made it plain that those matter as much as the letters themselves. In a former machine shop loft under industrial lamps, I start from press-room black and paper white. Cool steel greys go between. The eye climbs the contrast like a ladder.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
